Sunday nights have been a little sexier ever since MAD MEN came on the scene.  I'm not quite sure what I enjoy staring at more, Jon Hamm or the gorgeous retro outfits that Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks) and Betty Draper (January Jones) wear.  All I know is- I am all about the 60's prints, the slim pencil skirts and the fabulous floral frocks.  I'll be turning to those characters for ideas when it's time to play dress up. (Like every weekend????)

Here's a little peek at some of the goodies I keep in my everyday bag - they can vary depending on what I wear and my mood- but for the most part, I don't leave home without them (scaled down version goes into a clutch)...but as you can see they are every girl's essentials!

A little bit of this and a little bit of that. That about sums up my week.
I knew I wanted to shop, I needed a pick me up. I was kind of feeling the blues, so nothing like a little retail therapy. I just could not spend a lot on any one particular thing. And I wanted to buy for myself (heart therapy) but I also could not neglect my new home (home therapy). So I did what I do best, looked for little quirky updates that will take me through the long haul.

Hello friends! I don't know about you but the change in weather gets my shopping gears going!  Along with a spray tan, I've got quite a long wishlist of goodies on my mind.  But as much as I like to shop I have to pace myself.  I started slow and steady last week, as you will see in future posts, a mix of home goods and fashion goods.  I'm stocking up on necessities right now...beauty cabinet refills and such.  I became a fan of one or two of them instantly!  They will be in rotation....

I also fell head over heels (haha) over a pair of shoes...I will be on the hunt for many things to pair them with!

I promised myself that when it came time to decorate my living room I would create a relaxing environment with soothing neutral colors and rich textures. Of course, I had to throw in a few pictures of New York City - the recurring theme in my house (and one of my greatest loves).

I am digging all things animal print right now. Leopard, zebra, snake... You name it. And I know a little goes a long way with these patterns. But there is something fresh and new about a leopard print dress with a pair of brightly colored heels. A pair of leopard print flats with pastel jeans.  And zebra print anything, (especially soft muted colors) for the home is a definite yes.

A cool way to do the animal print trend without wearing it if it doesn't tickle your fancy-  let your IPad wear it for you!
