March has been trying for us. We moved not into our house, but into my mom's house again, yes again. New construction can be a beast. Throw in tons of snow and below freezing temps and you have a perfect recipe for delaying a house. Nothing we can do. We can't complain though, we are enjoying having a built in dog-sitter (thanks mommy) and having the luxury of saving a little more money the next two months or so.

With that said the husband and I have been treating ourselves to little pick me ups here and there. And along with constant praying for nice weather and a smooth closing, we are doing a bit more furniture shopping. Nothing like buying for a new house you don't live in yet!

In the meantime...

Welp, I'm trying to not complain but this Antarctic weather is getting quite old. My hips aren't especially appreciating it either. Why is it you want to turn into a hibernating bear when it's below zero? I'm starting to get to know the staff well at both Whole Foods and Wegmans. I've been hitting them up weekly for their prepared foods and bakeries. For not only do I want to eat - but I do not want to cook.  I think it's the kitchen in our sorority house apartment. Cheap appliances, lack of counter space and cabinets do not make cooking fun. So in the meantime I'm developing quite a friendship with the comfort food/salad bar. Oh and then there is wine- that always gets me through too. So that's where I'll be until Spring gets here. The food bar and the liquor store.

June is halfway gone and I'm starting to panic that I'll run out of time and not be able to do everything I've set out to do this Summer.  I've made so many promises to myself and others, and I intend to keep them.

I've kept my promise to my home to keep it tidy and happy so I've been buying fresh flowers weekly.  I kept my promise to my friends and met them for dinner, a fabulous night out at the Stanton Social. (That was the most fun promise!) and I've (sort of) kept the promise to myself to not keep wishing the week away so that Friday would get here, instead I've tried to embrace every day and every moment, no matter what was happening.

Although I would enjoy doing more of this embracing from the beach!

Six more weeks of snow (or so that's what's his furry face said).  Did anyone doubt that?  The way this winter has been shaping up it would astonish me if we started to get early Spring weather.
Polar Vortexes, massive snowstorm after massive snowstorm.... I like the change of seasons like the next gal but I would not mind if next Winter took a year off the next time around.
I'm tired of Uggs...it's time to start wearing Manolos again!

So I had a few days off to myself that were much needed and much appreciated.  I'm back to the daily grind now but my attitude has been slightly adjusted (for the better).  I think I was starting to overheat...literally.  Imagine a car engine with smoke spewing out of the hood... Well that's kind of how my body felt.  Constantly on the go.  But for 5 days I did very little, ate lots frozen treats to keep cool and managed to get blisters from lots of walking.  But I will take them- they were worth it.  I feel relaxed and rejuvenated  (Although I am already thinking of my next break).  Come August I am slowing things down!  I hope you guys are too!
