       Like most people, I went a little too overboard with the quarantine snacks, with the wine, and the TV watching.  Netflix no longer asked if I was there, it just assumed.  So now it was time to channel my energy into something again, besides my treadmill and Peloton (which I love). And well, here I am... back to blogging.  It oddly felt foreign and familiar at the same time.  Like an old pair of shoes that you find in the back of your closet. I wasn't sure if I wanted to wear these shoes again, but once I put them on, they felt right.  Let's see how long I wear them around....

       So, these are some of the things I have been doing and trying to keep myself content with (along with working from home).  My spending habits have definitely curtailed, it was not the time to spend a ton of money on frivolous things, but every now and then it was nice to have a little "pick me up" delivered to my door.  

I recently became a freelance makeup artist for Chanel, which if that isn't dangerous in itself, leaves me with more money burning a hole in my pocket. The latest Chanel collection is to die for, (rich and vibrant hues and shadow sticks that take you from sweet girly girl for day to sexy vixen by night).  I forced myself to leave the store without buying a thing once my appointments ended - but that won't last long, trust me I am making my list.  And if that wasn't bad enough I found the cutest kitchen and dining items at Anthro over the weekend.  I was pretty tempted to just move right into the store.  Cheeky measuring cups and spoons, dainty plates and a rolling pin that would make me want to bake every day.

And so... My list got even longer.  What I did buy (after trying and falling in love with) was the mascara of all mascaras. And the name says it all...Better Than Sex.  Yep. That's what it's called. And rightly so.  My lashes never looked so happy.

Amidst everything else going on in my life- my husband and I decided to throw a move in there.  I must say that it's true that moving ranks high on the list of stressful lifetime events. Close to starting a new job and losing a loved one. I'm not quite sure why it's so stressful.  It didn't help that Coconut was very sick the week prior and I had to worry about her and how she adjusted to her new surroundings...(She has adjusted by the way and is still eating and enjoying life so we are happy).

  We didn't move that far from where we were either, but I think it's this in between phase that is the killer.  Knowing that in 6 months or so we will have to move (again) out of this apartment and into our new house.  The thought of packing everything up again is looming over me like a dark ominous cloud.  But it has to be done.  And I'm sure once we are settled in our new house, buying new furniture, decorating, this will be a distant memory.  (Pictures of our new home and furniture will be up on the blog!)  I only hope that the itch to move again doesn't come as quickly.  But who am I kidding? I'm not a creature of habit.  I crave change, despite the stress it brings.  Besides... Sohl in the City in the Country will be cute but for so long.  Yes, did I mention I will be living next to a farm? Me living near a farm...(aye) I hear New York already beckoning...

Sometimes my favorite space in my house is my little office nook.  (Most of the time it's my bed or my treadmill) but I purposely made our office light and bright.  The sun coming through the windows everyday certainly helps. So does the light wall color and the white furniture. It's calming (for paying bills), relaxing (for web surfing) and keeps you focused (for writing).  I change my inspiration board every so often depending on the trends, what makes me happy and what I'm craving. It's nice to glance up from my computer screen and see pretty things.

Whether you are at work or at play in your office- it should just be plain pretty... Cuz... Why not?

So the Pantone color for 2013 is Emerald Green.  Not my favorite color, but fortunately for us brown haired/brown eyed girls, this is a flattering color for us.  With or without a tan (faux tan presumably), this color works with olive hued skintones. However, for redhead gals with porcelain skin, this color is striking.  Nothing like a fiery redhead wearing a bold emerald green dress.  Beautfiul. 

But all of us can wear this soon-to-be-everywhere color.  In accessories, make-up, shoes-even in our homes.

So our guest room is finished (finally) and I am happy to say I pretty much got the look I wanted without having to spend a lot. The room is quite small so the best option for a bed that could actually be used was a day bed with a trundle that pulls out so if more than one of our friends stayed - we would actually have somewhere for them to sleep...

So these are some pics of different views of the room.  It's hard to get the whole room in one shot so I just focused on the parts that I really love.  The overall feeling of the room is welcoming and of course we wanted it to be relaxing so we made the bed cozy with lots of pillows. I wanted a little contrast on the window so I opted for a black and white curtain.  The mini chandelier gives it a chic edge while the bird wall decor adds a little interest.

Not bad for Ashley furniture, HomeGoods, Kohls and Target!
