Stop and Stare

Ever see something that just took your breath away?  Well this shoe did it for me- twice.  First it was the beauty of the shoe.  Second was the price.

Though I will never fork over the money to own these beauties, it's nice to just acknowledge a work of art.

These

February flew and I spent most of my time indoors partly because it was freezing and my poor lungs could not take it (asthma anyone?) and also partly because of many hours at work. But I did manage to do a little online shopping and a little night time sipping (wine please)!

These are my latest loves and finds...

Red Velvet Cupcake Wine + a splash of strawberry seltzer
make for a dashing wine spritzer

Fresh soaps and bath products smell great
and dress up your powder room
(A nice perk while working at BlueMercury-
access to fabulous products!)

The cutest tunic from Anthropologie

The shopping (and working) continues...

In Bloom

It would be a little presumptuous to wear big florals and bright blooms just yet.  After all it is 28 degrees here in the North East today.  We are still flirting with snow showers and the wind chill is bitter.  However, before we know it - the time will be appropriate for dresses, maxis and jeans all in...

...wild, bold, seemingly fragrant blooms.  Here's what you will need:

Floral jeans;   A blooming pencil skirt;    A belted floral dress;    An island style maxi
Platforms for the wild chick;  Printed Pumps;   Floral wedges; A blooming tote

Happy Blooms!

Bulls-Eye

I scored some pretty cute goodies at my last Target run the other day.  How is it that you can go into that store knowing what you need and leaving with double the amount of stuff you don't?  I like to play the "let's see if I can keep it under $100 game" when I go....I never win. (SMH).  Especially since Target has been collaborating with some pretty high end designers.  The Neiman Marcus collab was genius first of all.  Now they have a collection designed by Prabal Gurung.  So now we can all look and feel like Model Hipsters living in Grammercy Park.  (No? No one did?)  OK. I digress.  It's a whimsical collection, full of color and blooms.  Perfect for the (hopefully) Spring-like temps coming soon.

And by the way, I snagged a few other yummy items too.  A sleep mask that makes the cutest of night time sleepies and a black flowy skirt to wear now with a turtleneck and heels and later in the Summer with wedges and racerback tees.  Divine!

Happy Shopping!

Mirror Mirror

Shiny mirrored objects are showing up everywhere.  On heels, on clothes and nails.  A little goes a long way with this trend, so proceed with caution.  You don't want to walk around looking like a human disco ball.
However, done right, a little flash of shine here or there can be quite chic.  Pair shiny oxfords with rolled jeans and a blazer.  I would wear mirrored pumps with black skinnies and a simple white blouse.  Watches and nails can be mirror happy with less reservation.  When and where you choose to shine can be completely up to you.

Snowed in

Hoping this is the last of winter's fury. We got about 10 inches here in NJ. We did not escape it, Winter had to give us a goodbye storm. I only hope the Summer is kinder... No hurricane repeats please, no tornadoes, I really don't like thunderstorms all that much either. As of late all the storms seem to have had companion storms meeting up with them. Is this a sign of what is to come? It's Fashion Week here too in NYC. Marc Jacobs had to reschedule his show due to the storm delaying his shipment. Even Fashion suffers at the hands of Winter, and if there is one thing that can cheer a gal up- it's all the dreamy clothes at Fashion Week.

Dreaming aside, both Coconut and I are ready for some warmer temps. New York City is beautiful snow covered and wearing all kinds of boots has been fun but I am looking forward to bright colored toes, sandals and a hot Summer in the city!

Stay safe everyone!

These Boots are perfect for snow trekking

Countdown

Countdown to Spring is on.  Allegedly, we are in for an early Spring - due to the Groundhog not seeing his shadow.  Or did he see it?  I don't know, whatever.  I don't think anybody buys into that hoopla anyway.   The weather is so unpredictable.  I distinctly remember an April snowstorm the year before I got married. SO I FOR ONE - am certainly not convinced nor will be convinced that we are in the clear until May is here and it's 75 degrees and sunny.  Only then I will feel safe enough to relax and start dreaming of Summer and all that goes along with it.  I am trying to live in the moment, but am eagerly awaiting Summer's arrival.  Because then....then it will be time...

Time for little dresses and sandals in bright colors...
Time for strolls around the city eating gelato...
Time for outdoor cafe dining...
Time for street fairs and parades...
Time for laying in the sun...
Time for a bike ride...

Counting down...
