Dream List

Every season I make a mental "dream wish list" of  items I would buy if I had no bills to pay and lots of money to spend!  The list usually turns into a long one as the season progresses and I continue to virtual shop.  But so far- it goes a little something like this....

Gucci Silver and Bamboo Pendant Necklace

Alice + Olivia Autumn Velvet Dress

Prada Wedges

Topshop Unique Dog Print Blouse

And lastly- for now....YSL Patent Leather Ombre Clutch....

....be still my heart

Part 2 still to come....

Not-So-Fair Weather Friends...

As the first official weekend of fall kicks off, as well as what appears to be the rainy season...it's time to (if you haven't already) start thinking about cozy sweaters, cute boots and jackets.  I am constantly on the hunt for the next cutest thing.  And if it's at a deal, well even better.  Like this trench for instance...a nice belt to cinch in your waist and the sleeves have a striped pattern when you roll them up! Can you believe this trench is sold at JCPenney for $119.92?????  Crazy.

MNG by Mango for JcPenney

At Nine West I found a great pair of flat boots- perfect for walking around the city- or the mall.
Nine West Clara Boot

Next on my list, from Piperlime.com....the perfect sweater for strolling around town.

Dex Fly Away Cardigan

And lastly, the essential bag for everything, love the details and the versatile color- this out of everything is my favorite!  Drumroll please.....

The Marc by Marc Jacobs Petal to the Metal Natasha Bag....oohhhh sigh.....

HAPPY SHOPPING!!

Vintage Loves

Vintage Silk Slip Shorts
I came across Free People's Vintage Collection solely by accident.  I was pleasantly surprised how lovely some of the pieces were, and how easy so-called "mainstream shops" are making it for people to find beautiful vintage pieces.  I know Urban Outfitters (who is under the Free People umbrella) is also selling vintage pieces- which to me is introducing a different, younger market to vintage,  Those shoppers who may wear vintage Rock t-shirts, but not necessarily buy a vintage purse or shoes.  Either way, from the way it looks-vintage is definitely here to stay.

Alexa Chung for Madewell

Understated chic+ fashion forward trendsetter + all around cool girl EQUALS ALEXA CHUNG... She is one of the few girls that can make a dress with oxfords look classic. Now she has collaborated with Madewell and created a line for them that mimics her downtown NYC style. Before I could high tail it over to my nearest store I browsed the site and already picked out a few key pieces I have my eye on. Some I am actually drooling over.
They are: The Patrice Top; The Penny Dress; The Ruby Cardigan; and the Wrap Scarf...Tell me if you do not agree?

The Search For The Perfect Coat

My search for the perfect coat begins at the end of every summer season. I always like to add at least one new coat to my coat collection and give away or discard one- my way of keeping them updated. Of course I would love to add a fabulous coat from the Burberry Prorsum line to my closet - classic and chic. But until then I scour the stores and websites looking for the next best thing (in my price range as well). So far for this fall/winter season, I came across these lovely options:

For a pop of color- Zara Evase Coat; For a nice dress coat- a Jessica Simpson coat in Mushroom; A nice dark grey tweed from Nanette Lepore and for a whimisical touch- the Tahari Belle Capelet:

Lap of Luxury

If you love to work, or wish you loved work, why not show your Laptop/Ipad/Tab a little love while running around the city? Or the office...These beauties are adorable- I just had to share! They make me want to drag my laptop everywhere- just to show off the case! And at every price point- there is something for everbody...all equally as cute.

Dinner and a Movie

I love when a great outfit comes together- even for something so simple as a dinner and a movie. Something casual but cute, cozy and comfy. I am thinking a fabulous sweater, a tank underneath, a great pair of jeans and an easy wedge: Perfect to go see "I Don't Know How She Does It?" Starring my girl, Sarah Jessica Parker. I hope it's good....

Animal Lover

A trend that I am really excited about is animal print...not cheetah, not leopard- literally animals on dresses, sweaters and pants. Maybe because I am partial to animals, dogs especially....(like little Coconut, my fellow fashionista). But not just dogs, all animals, I love the playful prints- birds, horses, fish! Delicate and whimiscal, but sopisticated enough to wear to work or out to dinner. Trust me, you will not feel like a three year old wearing these prints. So far my favorites have been from Asos. Check them out!

New Upper West Side C21!

After so many years of just being downtown, Century 21 will be opening it's doors to its new store uptown. Broadway and W66th to be exact. It's taking over the old Barnes & Noble location. (Which tells me people are sick of books and there is always room for fashion empires!)

Either way- it's very exciting- one does not have to trek all the way down to Cortlandt Street. Fashionistas uptown rejoice!

Missoni for Tar'jay

T-MINUS 3 Hours and 9 minutes...that is how long before Missoni for Target hits the stores. And from the looks of the preview pics leaked out- it is every bit Missoni. Bright vibrant colors, bold zig-zags and stripes. Clothing, housewares, cosmetics...there is a little Missoni for everyone. Now let's see how long it takes for every last bit of it to be sold out? I give it 1 week.
