I'm not really an Ann Taylor kind of girl (well LOFT maybe), but I digress...lately my interest has been pleasantly peaked. The ads are looking pretty chic and the quality I must say is pretty divine. Maybe my taste is changing- maybe I am getting a little more...ahem...mature...I don't know. But I am feeling a little A.T. shopping spree coming on soon!
These are some of their looks from the Summer 2012 line:
When you are not quite sure what to wear - a safe bet is good old black and white. You can add a pop of color or keep it basic. It's a never fail. Here I paired a Limited Sweater and Jcrew lace tank with a few options. Yellow and red are perfect "go to" colors to to mix in with black and white.
And it doesn't take much to change the look of your outfit.
Temps are rising and I am being drawn to bright hot colors- reds, oranges and yellows. Sun and Fire inspired to go with the heat wave that we got going on here in the NorthEast. I am not complaining- it's time for warmth after so much dreary rain. Now it's time to pick which air conditioned venue to wear my new duds to (Thank you Forever 21)!
So I did a little more than window shopping this weekend - I actually did a little retail damage. I did not buy only for myself though. I found some great deals at the Macy's One Day sale for the hubbie.
Me though- I found a great pair of sky high sandals, also got a little Jcrew therapy and good ole H&M never fails.
This post is centered on the Jessica Simpson heels. She is doing her thing with shoes. I put together a little denim/khaki number- hope you like it!
A few things I'd like to get my hands on soon... I kind of lost my shopping urge for a few weeks or so...Isn't it funny how the way you feel changes your daily/weekly habits? With my brain swirling around I really just wanted to shop for a flight to I don't know where- little by little my mood has picked back up and I am on the shopping mend. This is how I begin my journey back... Hope you like them too.
My Dad was a cool guy. I can't believe it will be 5 years this November that he's gone. Today, June 9th he would have been 67 years old. Way too young to be gone and still had a lot of life to live. I smile when I think of the funny memories, I cry when I realize how long it's been since I heard his voice.
What I know now, and try to keep remembering is that life is precious and we need to tell the ones we love how much they mean to us- all the time. One day we will wish we can talk to them again...
My Mom and Dad
Always with a nice watch
And always dressed to impress...
My parents definitely passed on the "Love of clothes" gene to me....
they were and still are the coolest parents.
What I would not give
for my dad to see this post...He would be so proud!
I have been little by little trying to convert my household items and cleaners, make-up and clothing to more eco- friendly and animal friendly products. It has been a little bit of a challenge, as not every store carries these kinds of items (plus the fact that I have to consciously remember).
But when I do- I feel good about myself. Just knowing I am contributing a little towards less pollution, a little less damage to the earth- and maybe one less animal that needed to be used. A somber thought- but true....and it can be done!
Comfort, the beauty of imperfections, the allure of time-worn objects, and the appeal of simple practical living: these are the cornerstones of Shabby Chic. Like the cozy familiarity of a well-worn pair of faded jeans, the dilapidated elegance of an Italian villa, the worn grandeur of faded velvets and mismatched floral china handed down from your grandmother’s attic, the brand is a revived appreciation for what is used, well-loved, and worn, it is a respect for natural evolution and a regard for what is easy and sensible.
Planning our vacation has gotten me in the mood for tropical breezes, drinks on the lanai and bronzed skin. My mind is there already though I still have a ways to go: but in my hastiness I thought about what I would bring along with me- and share with you in case you were planning a fabulous getaway too! Here's to us- Vacation Nation...
