Sohl for the Home

So the past few weeks we have been house hunting and checking out neighborhoods to possibly call our future home...yikes!  It's a big decision, even though the housing market is a "buyer's" market...(In New Jersey...really?)  It is still a hefty price to pay to be a to do away with the stressful side of buying a house- I dive right into the fun side...Decorating!

It has been quite fun going on a mental shopping spree...of course I visited all my favorite places...I picked a few items to share...hope you love them as much as I do!

The Loehmann's Over/Under Part 2

Part 2

So we left off with a great pair of DKNY booties...there were a lot of nice options in the shoe department but my eye went straight to the True Religion High Heeled Loafers...for $120.00 down from 180.00- I was liking the discount.

Next up- the Mens department- they had a lot of great pieces for the man in your life.  Including fabulous jeans like this pair of Hudsons....originally $200!  Down to $130.00!

Stop the press because when I saw this buy- I thought there had to be a defect somewhere....but no defects...CASHMERE.... for just over $100???  Men's soft plush cashmere sweaters....too good to be true.  But there they were.

And to get to the Mens department you have to pass the Handbags....well my heart went a flutter when I saw a whole rack of Blush colored Marc Jacobs bags...

And beside that, a glimmering sea of Michael Kors bags...fabulous totes in Gold and Silver Monogram print...the perfect work tote bag.

These buys were fantastic but the last segment- Coats and Jackets is the best of them- the biggest score- I think any fashionista would agree...

Part 3 The Finale is next....

The J Crew Collection

When I receive my J Crew catalog in the mail, it's something I reserve for my coffee time, (My Anthropologie catalog gets coffee time as well).  I enjoy quiet surroundings, sipping my flavored coffee, gazing at picture after picture....

Well the November J Crew catalog made me so excited- I had to dedicate a blog to it.  There were so many beautiful things in there- but I picked out the few that jumped off the pages to me:

Hacking Jacket

No. 2 Pencil Tweed Skirt

High Waisted Cords

Viv Print Pumps

Paisley Talia Top

What I love best about J Crew is the way they put their outfits together, mixing prints and throwing colors together that you would not think to...(like purple, green and yellow?)  Somehow they do it right.

These were just a few of the many, many desirous things that I put on my mental shopping list...wander over to J Crew to start making yours...Happy Shopping!

The Marshalls Challenge Part 2

So I left off with the fabulous clutch- then I wandered over to housewares in the back of my local Marshalls.  On the way there I passed a cool wall of many colors and patterns....I wanted to take home every single one.  I also like the idea for my own closet- hanging my scarves up and using them as accessory art.

The second thing that grabbed my attention- the doggie aisle- even Coconut walked away a winner here.  I mean with the winter months coming- how could I not bring her home a pair of boots??  They were $9.99!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Adorable!

Ok, so I finally made it to housewares and stumbled upon this wonderful linen upholstered chair- regularly $400.00...down to a whopping $199.00- it was gorgeous!  I was trying to talk myself out of picking up this beauty when my eyes fell upon the most essential piece (for me)....

It was love at first sight- and I knew- for certain that no matter what- I would make room in my home for this addition...I could not leave this behind!

A work of art- an homage to New York City's best neighborhoods....and at $69.99, regularly $115.00- how could I not take this home with me?  I am making googly eyes at it right now as we speak....(sigh)

Happy Shopping at your local Marshalls!

The Marshalls Challenge Part 1

So I decided to take a trip to my local Marshalls (to convince myself to stop paying retail prices) and to see what was going on...for a Sunday afternoon- it was extremely busy!  Well, they must have recently had a delivery because I must admit, I was pleasantly suprised at some of the items I found.

First up- the shoe department...I gazed at the rows and rows of shoes until my eyes stopped on a fancy pair of wedges...Leopard Wedges from Adrienne Vitadinni for $79.00 down from $140.00!

Next up- The Coats and Jackets....I found the most adorbale little faux fur cape.  $49.00!  Perfect to dress up or down- made by the Sisters brand is a sleeper hit I think!

After the Cape find, I spotted a tweed jacket with sequin trim from Cynthia Rowley!  If that's not a find- I don't know what is.  Kind of Chanel inspired....perfect for work but would look great with dark blue jeans and a white tank underneath with a pile of long necklaces...a steal!

And lastly, I found a fabulous clutch that would go with all 3 of these items and almost everything else in your closet.  It did not have a tag- which in my experience, usually means a better price.

Along with these items I came across a few other goodies, one of which I could simply NOT leave behind!  The Marshalls Challenge Part 2 is coming shortly!
